Tendencia a la asimetría funcional y quiralidad helicoidal inducida por microsatélites en Staphylococcus aureus

Staphylococcus aureus presenta una distribución genómica rica en microsatélites, lo que puede inducir asimetrías funcionales y sesgos de quiralidad helicoidal. Se analizaron cuatro genomas reportados en la base de datos NCBI y se cuantificaron los motivos repetitivos ATAT, ACAC y AGAG en todos los genes mediante la herramienta MFind y los gráficos de superficie. Se observaron diferencias reproducibles en la topografía de picos y valles entre genomas, con un patrón consistente de similitud en Gn2–Gn4 y un marcado desvío en Gn1. Mientras que ATAT predominó en Gn2–Gn4, Gn1 mostró un enriquecimiento atípico de ACAC. Este cambio en el motivo dominante, junto con el desplazamiento de máximos entre genomas, sugiere una variación en la disposición local de las repeticiones compatible con efectos quirales (asimetrías entre hebras, repeticiones invertidas y posibles transiciones entre patrones en espejo). Tales configuraciones son plausibles moduladoras de la direccionalidad regulatoria, de la formación de estructuras secundarias y de la propensión a la recombinación. Metodológicamente, se destaca que la métrica empleada puede verse influida por la longitud de las regiones y de los genes analizados. En el análisis de tres motivos en cuatro genomas, los patrones observados ofrecen un mapa comparativo inicial de la dimensión quiral en la arquitectura repetitiva de S. aureus y motivan análisis mecanísticos que integren evidencia estructural y funcional para cuantificar la contribución de la quiralidad a la variación genómica entre linajes.
